Random Things #13

Here are more random things discovered during our travels around Paris.  .

Below is an architectural oddity.  We suspect the architect had an Art Deco ship in mind when designing this building in the 16th arrondissement.

Another insect hotel, in the Parc de Bercy.

We previously featured a movable feast in the guise of Bustronome.  Below is a competitor, Bus Toqué.  You see the diners on the upper deck and the kitchen below.

In our travels, we often see buildings where notable people lived or notable events occurred.  Below is a building where Auguste Renoir lived for a few years late in life.

Down the street from our apartment is a building with a plaque.  The plaque marks the location where, in the Spring of 1944, a French Resistance committee twice met in secret.   What is remarkable is the building is located in the heart of Paris, near office buildings and hotels that were used during the Occupation by the Germans, including the Gestapo.

Below is a building in the center of Paris where, in 1895, the Lumiere Brothers' film projector was first used for a public showing of a movie.

Another hail storm in Paris.

Marie-Chantal loves pistachios.  So, she was pleased to discover a pistachio-only shop in Paris.

At the Crédit Lyonnais headquarters in Paris, Marie-Chantal met the bank's namesake.  Fortunately, the lion was well fed before Marie-Chantal arrived.

Recently, in December, we spotted some trees in bloom in a nearby park.  Springtime in December?

Marie-Chantal is mystified.
Below, near the Palce de la Condorde, un mec aléatoire ("some random dude").

Thanks for viewing more random things.
