End of Year 4

Year 4 of The 10 Year Plan has come to an end.

We have enjoyed more than we imagined living in Paris and traveling in France and beyond.  The experience was made even more special by the many friends and family members who visited us.

During Year 4, we have enjoyed museums, art, music, theater, film, sports, parades, food and wine, and volunteering.  We have especially enjoyed making new friends and reconnecting with longtime friends here in France.

We are often asked two questions.  First, what was your favorite thing about Year 4?  Jean-Claude's favorite was visiting Auvers-sur-Oise where Vincent Van Gogh lived and painted (click here to revisit the blog post).  We enjoyed walking in Van Gogh's footsteps, viewing the scenes he painted and eating where he dined.

Marie-Chantal's favorite thing about Year 4 was ... well, she can't pick just one thing, but she relished being able to see Monet's paintings and other Impressionist works many times (probably at least 15 times at the Orsay and Orangerie).  Her other pleasure was a simple one -- walking the Tuileries every day and appreciating how the flowers and trees changed with the seasons.

We are also often asked which is your favorite city so far--New York, Florence, Washington, D.C. or Paris?  We loved loved each city and therefore finds it hard to make the Sophie's Choice decision. Every city has been wonderful in its own way, truly.  That's why they are great world cities!

We have loved Year 4 in Paris and will certainly miss it.

By the way, in case you want to review The 10 Year Plan, here is our list of cities:
     New York
     Florence
     Washington, D.C.
     Paris
     San Francisco
     London
     Chicago
     Madrid
     Seattle
     Sydney

Thank you for following our blog.  We hope that you are entertained by one of the posts every now and then.

After several more days of posts from Year 4, the blog will be on hiatus until we begin Year 5 in San Francisco.  We are very much looking forward to living in The City by the Bay, seeing friends and family members who live nearby and welcoming visitors.

Because our year in Paris is ending, it is time for Marie-Chantal and Jean-Claude to bid everyone un chaleureux adieu et bonne chance (a fond farewell and good luck).  We have enjoyed our French personas, which will remain in France.  But please don't worry.  Some random hottie and some dude will reappear when the blog resumes.

Au revoir (Until we meet again)
Next stop, San Francisco.
