In Paris, art is everywhere--in museums, in galleries, in public places.
Like Florence, Paris has a lot of public art. Wherever we ramble in Paris, we typically find some monument, statue or other work of art displayed outdoors.
Here is a random sampling of public art we have viewed in Paris.
While strolling in the 6th arrondissement, we discovered a modern statue honoring Alfred Dreyfus (1859-1935).
In the Marais, we discovered the large mural pictured below.
Below is another mural in the 5th arrondissement.
In Montmartre, we found a statue based on the well-known French story story Le Passe-muraille ("The Man Who Walked through Walls"), by Marcel Aymé (1941). You can read how the man became trapped in the wall, by clicking here.
Next to the Pompidou Center is a large collection of public art, including murals and sculptures in a large fountain.

In 2019, a set of 6 new artistic fountains were added to the Champs-Élysées. Located at the Rond Point , the new fountains replace earlier fountains decommisioned in 1998 due to faulty plumbing and also damage resulting from the celebrations following France's World Cup victory. You can see one of the new fountains in the video below.
While walking along Avenue George V in the 8th arrondissement, we discovered some commercial art displayed in public. The artwork below seemed like it would be quite tasty.
