Where do we live in Paris?
We live on Rue Saint-Roch, a relatively old and short street in the 1st arrondissement.
Rue Saint-Roch is home to many shops, including one shop with a noteworthy distinction.
Below, Jean-Claude stands next to the smallest shop in Paris.
The shop is located in a small niche next to the much larger Église Saint-Roch. As you can see, the shop is quite small, with a very low roof.
Today, the shop is inactive. Long ago, the shop was home to a condonnier, a cobbler who sat under the low ceiling while resoling and repairing shoes. You can see a vintage photo of the cordonnier at work in 1965, by clicking here.
Jean-Claude is wondering whether he should open a business in the small shop. Of course, he we will have to hunch down to enter the shop.
The question is what kind of business should he operate? Free U.S. legal advice?
If you have an idea what kind of shop Jean-Claude should operate, please let us know.
Marie-Chantal has her own idea about how to use the small shop.
