Who doesn't love opera?

Well, lots of people don't love opera.  However, if you love it, NYC is a great place to see great opera.

One of the best opera companies in the world is The Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center.

The Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center (interior).  If you look closely, you might see Greg in the very top of the opera house, second to last row.  Opera is expensive.
So far this season, we have seen four well-known operas:
  • Rigoletto (see earlier blog spot)--a crazed hunchback exacts revenge on the wrong person
  • Rusticana Cavalleria--adultery, betrayal and jealousy turn deadly
  • Pagliacci--a maniacal, jealous clown resorts to murder
  • The Marriage of Figaro--the story of a fun-loving butler, some cross-dressing and narrowly avoided incest
Who doesn't love murder, jealousy and some cross-dressing set to classical music?  Good times.

P.S.  We are looking forward to Year 2 in Italy.  We hear Italy has some good opera.
