Holiday Time in Paris #5

Christmas day has passed but the holiday season is still going strong here in Paris.

We again visited Galeries Lafayette, one of the old, large department stores in the center of Paris.

The store was crowded with holiday shoppers and sightseers like us.  We returned to the see the holiday decorations inside the store.  We were not disappointed.  Everywhere we walked in the store, we found all sorts of decorations on this year's theme: bees.

We ventured up to the roof where we found more bees, including a bee angel (pictured below).

On the roof, we found a patinoire, an ice skating rink.

The rink's surface was artificial.  Instead of ice, the surface was synthetic ice.  The bees didn't mind.  They glided around the ice with a little help.

The best decoration was inside.  A large, decorated tree floated under the glass dome.

Atop the tree was a bee angel, with slow-moving wings.

Click on the video below to see the in action.

Around the tree were more bees that danced to music every half hour, flying up and down.

Thanks for again visiting Galeries Lafayette with us.
