Holiday Time in Paris #3

We enjoy celebrating the Christmas season wherever we travel during the 10 Year Plan.

Marie-Chantal adores miniature nativity scenes.  She recently received a lovely gift, a precious miniature crèche de Noël from her friend Eliane.

She also has a great fondness for Advent calendars.  Fortunately, a local store had many to choose from, including some with chocolate.

Still another way that we celebrate is by decorating a Christmas tree in our apartment.  Below, Marie-Chantal visited a "10F" store and found a Charlie Brown-style tree.

A "10F" store, or 10 Franc store, is the older version of a 1 Euro store.
Ten French Francs would equal about 1.50 today.
Marie-Chantal is a decorating master.  Check out the end result.

The folks hosting the nearby fair in the Tuileries garden, the Magie de Noël, know how to celebrate Christmas well--from giant nutcrackers to a giant pyramid to singing reindeer.

Below is a German-style Christmas Pyramid, with seasonal figures spinning under the windmill.

Have you ever heard reindeer singing three part harmony?  Check it out.

Jean-Claude is clearly excited about the installation of the Roue de Paris, the Christmas version of the gigantic Ferris Wheel.

All types of decorations can be seen at the fair.  Storks delivering newborns is an Alsatian tradition.  Below, Marie-Chantal wishes a stork a safe onward journey.

Thanks for sharing some more holiday scenes with us.
