Cherry Blossoms in D.C. #4 (Part 2 of 2)

Our Cherry Blossom Dream continues.

The heart of the exhibition is a large room with an interactive display, pictured below. The room was semicircular with a high wall covered in floating cherry blossoms, koi and Japanese characters.

In the center of the room was a translucent, circular enclosure covered with Japanese characters.

We entered the small circular room and could see the characters with the floating images in the background.

The floating images on the large wall were a pleasure to watch.  Ambient music enhanced the overall experience.

What made the experience surreal was the ability to move our arms and send large colored shapes floating across the wall.  After some practice, we were able to move colored shapes from one side to the other.  Below is a short video of Susan creating and moving colored shapes across the wall.

After our exertion, we retired to the bar for some well-deserved beverages.  We pointed our camera phones at the drinks and they came alive with augmented reality images.  Check it out.

Waiting under a cherry tree for the bus to arrive.

The bus rolls in and stops.
