Museums: Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden #1

The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, opened in 1974, is one of the many Smithsonian museums.  The Hirshhorn's focus is contemporary and modern art.

Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden
The Hirshhorn hosts frequently changing temporary exhibitions.

In New York and Florence, we saw the work of Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, who was imprisoned in China for his politically subversive art.  The museum recently hosted an exhibition of Ai Weiwei's portraits of political activists and prisoners from around the world.  The portraits are created with Lego building blocks.  Check it out.

Another exhibition caught our eye, The Utopian Projects.  The exhibition featured models and drawings of out of the ordinary structures, some which were actually built.

Not surprisingly, Greg was drawn to the "toilet on the mountain".

You've heard of a room with a view.  Why not a toilet with a view?
