As Year 3 nears its end, we returned to the East Building of the National Gallery of Art with a specific goal in mind: To see whether some different Mark Rothko "color field" paintings were on view.
You might remember from earlier blog posts that Greg is a fan of Rothko's paintings. During visits to the East Building, we would often stop by the Rothko gallery. Each visit was a pleasure, seeing the same set of paintings each time.
After several visits, we wished different paintings would be displayed. After all, the National Gallery of Art has more than 1,000 of Rothko's works of art in its collection.
Thanks for viewing some additional Rothko's with us.
P.S. On the way to the Rothko gallery, we passed by the rain-soaked outdoor terrace of the East Building. It looks like someone was learning their numbers but forgot to put them away.
