Museums in Paris: Centre Georges Pompidou #3 (Part 2 of 2)

Our visit to the Pompidou continues.

The Pompidou's collection includes modern and contemporary from France and beyond--even from the United States.

During our visit, we viewed works by some of our favorite artists.  Check it out.

The "Arne" in the portrait is Arne Glimcher, founder of the Pace Gallery.  Glimcher represents the artist.

The painting above is based on a Polaroid of Arne Glimcher.

What makes the painting especially interesting is the technique used to create the portrait.  The image is a collection of small squares with multi-colored ovals.  Below is a close up of the eye on the right side of the painting.

We also discovered some other works that we liked.

We even discovered an architectural drawing that was artistic and vaguely familiar to Susan, like déjà vu.

Surprise!  It turns out that the building is Dorton Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Susan grew up in nearby Chapel Hill and remembers visiting Dorton Arena many times.

Thanks for making a return visit to the Pompidou with us.
