Wildlife in Paris #1

While strolling through a park recently, we spotted the "hotel" pictured below.  


We guessed it might be a birdhouse or possibly a work of art.  Do you have a guess?

In two other parks, we spotted more of the hotels and wondered again what they were.  Perhaps they were bug hotels?




Eventually, we spotted a hotel with an explanatory sign.


Here is a closeup of the sign with a rough translation.

Hotel for insects: awareness tool.  To act on the conservation of biodiversity.
Apparently, various species of beneficial insects, such as solitary bees, butterflies and ladybugs check into the hotel.  The hotels support biodiversity and pollination.  You can learn more by clicking here.
