Here are more answers to the question "where do you live in New York?"
On the noisiest street in NYC.
New Yorkers love their horns, which means a lot of noise pollution day
and night. We have gotten used to it, but it was a shock at first.
Early on, we heard a foghorn and assumed it was a ship passing by in the
East River. Wrong we were. It was a truck that upgraded its horn to a ship's
air-powered foghorn. And there are lots of impatient, would-be ship's
captains cruising their trucks on East 59th Street, the noisiest in NYC..

Near Serendipity (on East 60th Street). A nearby landmark to orient people about our location is
Serendipity, a cafe/ice cream shop known for its frozen hot chocolate drink (pictured below).
Not everyone knows about Serendipity, but apparently many do since there is always a line to get in. In addition to frozen hot chocolate, Serendipity is known for another dessert. Please stay tuned for more on that.
P.S. We did not know we were moving to a building just around the corner from Serendipity. It was . . . [wait for it] . . . serendipity.
Across from the D&D Building.
No, not the Dungeons and Dragons Building.

NOT where we line in New York |
D&D is the Decoration & Design Building, the East Side's destination for home furnishings in
all categories. In fact, we live on Decorators Way (also known as 59th
Street between 3rd and 2nd Avenues). With Designers Way one block
down, we find ourselves in the midst of a home decoration mecca. The
hundreds of showrooms here cater to the interior decorators working for well-heeled East-Siders. If
you are a bargain-hunter looking for a great deal, you probably won't
find it here, but we hope you will visit us anyway.
