U.S. Institute of Peace #1

Washington, D.C. is home to great and interesting architecture.  In the interesting category is the home of the United States Institute of Peace, an independent governmental institute founded in 1984 that studies and promotes world peace.

Since 2011, the Institute's headquarters has been a modern building located near the Lincoln Memorial.  Architect Moshe Safide designed the building.  It has typical modern architectural features, with one exception--the roof.  The roof is not at all typical; it's wonderfully unique and symbolic. The top of the building is shaped like a dove in flight.  No joke.  Check it out.

The U.S. Institute of Peace, Constitution Avenue and 23rd Street, NW, Washington, D.C.
During our travels around D.C., we noticed the building and wanted to see it up close.  So, we decided to attend one of their public events--a discussion of the role of women in constitution-making following civil war in countries around the world.

The discussion was fascinating.  Research reveals a correlation between involving women in drafting a new constitution and two outcomes:  the duration of the constitution and the degree of gender equality under the constitution.   Involving women results in both a longer-lasting constitution and greater equality.  Consequently, the Institute's staff assists nations with involving women when drafting a new constitution following periods of civil war.

Following the discussion, we toured the building's multi-level atrium, which is covered by the dove.  Check it out.  .

We found a small model of the dove, known as The Ansary Peace Dove.  (The dove was a gift of the Hushang Ansary Foundation.  Ironically, Ansary was once Minister of Finance and Minister of Information in the Shah's Iran.)

Thanks for visiting the U.S. Institute of Peace with us.

Good afternoon,

So my comment from yesterday was removed. No problem. Says more about your organization than about my comment. But for those who are seriously interested, the following:

https://www.thedailyherald.sx/islands/ansary-ordered-to-pay-over-naf-1-billion-in-damages

Please be aware that the so called donations to your building were paid by premium paying clients of Ennia Caribe Insurance Company in Curacao Dutch Caribbean and NOT by the Ansary's!!!

Hope you will pick-up this story of how a former Iranian General in the Shah Regime of the 1970's Mr. Hushang Ansary (Ambassador is how he wants to be called) with the help of his daughter Nina Ansary and their cronies embezzled/wasted around US$ 600.000.000 from our local Life Insurance Company ENNIA on my Island Curacao Dutch Caribbean. The Judge yesterday ordered these corrupt thugs to pay back around US$ 600.000.000 so that around 50.000 policyholders will be guaranteed their pensions, health and life insurance in the near future. Some examples of what the Ansary's have squandered the Insurance Company's funds on:

Around US$ 10.000.000 in Netjet leases for vacationing trips, US$ 1.200.000 on Donations to The Bush Campaigns & Foundations. US$ 400.000.000 on purchasing of Stewart & Stevenson, US$ 8.000.000 on 'The Rooftop' of the US Peace Institute in Washington, Museum of Fine Arts US$ 1.200.000, Taking Charge Foundation US$ 400.000, Pentagon Memorial US$ 300.000, James Baker Institute US$ 300.000, and much more!!!

Today Mr. Ansary placed an advertisement claiming that our Dutch Caribbean Justice System is somehow unjust (because he and his cronies were caught with their hands in the "Cookie Jar'). I hope your Organization will help unmask these so-called Philanthropists for what they really are and how they are hurting almost 1/3 rd of our Islands citizens who may never see any of their pension money again.

The verdict is 89 pages long and is in Dutch.

If you need any further info, let me know!
