Florence, like New York City, is home to many museums, all sorts of museums: art, science, medicine, history, military, and, since Florence is in Italy, fashion.
We recently visited the Gucci Museum. The Gucci fashion empire got its start in Florence about a hundred years ago when the founder Guccio Gucci started making luxury luggage. From there, Gucci expanded into fashion and other luxury items. The Gucci Museum is a wonderful place to visit.
Here are a few photos from our visit. Enjoy.
The museum is located in a large, historic building in the center of Florence, on one of the main squares, the Piazza della Signoria. A brief history of the building appears below.

The shoes in the photo above remind Greg of a friend's wedding years ago. The groom safeguarded his shoes so his college friends did not write "Help me!" on the soles. Kneeling at the altar would have resulted in a lot of laughter. Below is a close up of the shoes.

Aside from fashion, the museum features other Gucci luxury products from the past. Here are a couple of them.

A little known fact. Earlier in life, Susan moonlighted as a car show model. Below she shows off her skills. She's still got it!
