Museums: Metropolitan Museum of Art (Part 2 of 2)

After viewing some modern fashion, Greg thought it would be fun to preview some of the types of artifacts that we will see in museums in Italy.  

So, we strolled over to the Met's Etruscan collection.  The Etruscans, who pre-date the Romans, lived in what is now central Italy--Tuscany, Umbria and further north and south. Here are some photos from our tour of the collection.  







Near the Etruscan Collection, we found a collection of archaic artifacts.  ("Archaic", in this context, means before the rise of Greek civilization.  One artifact caught Susan's eye--a beaded necklace that resembled a necklace Susan was wearing.  Check it out.

We suppose that the photos above are proof that fashion trends repeat, every 20 years or every 3,000 years.  Who knew?
