We were fortunate that another visitor surprised us here in New York. Greg's mother Judy left temperate Orlando to enjoy the bracing weather in NYC. It was a whirlwind, 3-day visit with many highlights:
- The Metropolitan Museum of Art (two days in a row)
- Times Square
- Bryant Park and the Winter Village
- Bloomingdale's
- Holiday lights
- Moonstruck Diner, Magnolia Bakery, Chinese takeout
- Tree decoration
- The Cupcake ATM
- The Ride
Here are a few photos.
At the Metropolitan Museum of Art: Channeling choreographer Bob Fosse, inventor of jazz hands |
Not to be outdone by son Mike or comedian Steve Martin, Judy makes like King Tut and walks like an Egyptian at the Temple of Dendur (at the Metropolitan Museum of Art). |
With the Temple of Dendur in the background, Judy and Sphinxy pose for the camera. (Judy is on the left.) |
Visiting the Met special exhibition Ancient Egypt Transformed: The Middle Kingdom. "Hmmmm, I wonder if I would look good in a Sphinx costume for Halloween next year." |
After visiting the Met, enjoying some chicken soup on a cold evening at the nearby diner Moonstruck. In response to a question from Greg: "What do you mean what was King Tut really like?" |
Outside Bloomingdale's: Enjoying the amazing holiday windows. What a deer! |
Getting into the act: Judy photo bombs Frosty in one of the Bloomies holiday windows |
Leaving Bloomingdale's: "Oh, look over there. Is that a dollar store?" |
Bryant Park: A nice visit with niece Heather McManus |
More jazz hands. Happy Holidays! |
