Living Local in Paris #4

Not far from our apartment is one of Paris's great department stores, Printemps, founded in 1865.  The store is located in three grand buildings that are tall and ornately decorated.  The architectural style is a mixture, with the best features -- the domes and lanterns -- in the Art Nouveau style.

On the top floor of one of the Printemps buildings is a cafe with an outdoor terrace.  It is frequented mostly by locals (and a few tourists).  We visited the cafe recently on a cool Summer afternoon.

From the terrace, we enjoyed views of the Paris skyline, including the nearby Palais Garnier (the Paris opera house) and the Eiffel Tower in the distance, plus many other landmarks. Here are a few photos from our visit.

Thanks for visiting the top of Printemps with us.
