Living Local in Paris #2

We enjoy spending a full year in each city of the 10 Year Plan because doing so allows us to Live Local.  We have been enjoying all sorts of local life, including a recent visit to a comedy club.

The Bootleg Bar is a Speakeasy-style bar celebrating the Roaring '20's in the U.S.  The bar is located in a typical Parisian neighborhood in the 11th near the Bastille.  There were no tourists anywhere.

Fortunately, the night we went was Open Mic Night in English.  Greg has difficulty understanding everyday French.  Understanding French slang and comedy would be very difficult for him.

We had previously met Josquin, one of the comics performing that night.  Josquin was our guide on a walking tour.  He was an amusing guide and told us about the club.  So, off we went.

A half dozen comics performed in English.  The comics live in Paris but come from all over the world--Switzerland (Josquin), the U.S., Sweden, Sri Lanka, England and France.

While the performers were amateurs, they told some funny jokes and we are happy that we went.
