Beach Volleyball is a big deal in Italy and around the world.
We recently learned that Beach Rugby is also a big deal in Italy, with teams and an Italian Beach Rugby League.
In one of the main squares in Florence, Piazza Santa Croce, a temporary stadium was erected for an annual soccer event. The stadium has a thick layer of sand covering the stone surface of the square.
So, some enterprising dude must have thought--"Let's host a Beach Rugby tournament here before the soccer match."
We stopped by while the tournament was in progress. Admission was free. So, we watched for a while and took a couple of photos. The action was fast and enjoyable to watch.
