[Pop Quiz: What do Calvin and Hobbes and modern art have in common? The answer appears below.]
During a visit to the Hirshhorn, we view a new temporary exhibition. The exhibition opened on the day we visited and featured the art/poetry of a young California artist named Tony Lewis. Like Greg, Lewis is a big fan of the comic strip Calvin & Hobbes. He used the comic strip to create poetry by covering the drawings and some of the text, leaving only a few words to create a new poem.
Here are some samples of Lewis' poetry.
The exhibition includes a book with reprints of the poetry. For example, the poem directly above is reprinted on the page pictured below.
Tony Lewis attended the opening of the exhibition. Susan met Tony and complimented him on his art.
