Not far from our building is a traditional bookstore in Georgetown, Bridge Street Books.
The shop, established in 1980, is located on M Street, which was called Bridge Street in the 1700's before Washington, D.C. arrived next door.
The shop has a large collection of books for avid and serious readers, ranging from history to philosophy to politics to fiction.
While browsing, Greg spotted a very happy random hottie, who obviously likes traditional bookstores.
The founder of the shop, Philip Levy, recently died at age 72. The Washington Post obituary includes praise from George Will and Elvis Costello. A family member described Levy as a "gregarious hermit".
We are glad that independent bookstores like Bridge Street Books still exist. We guess that makes us the nostalgic, old-school, anti-Kindle sort of reader. Oh well.
