Let's visit the National Gallery of Art again.
The National Gallery's collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art is impressive. During a return visit we toured the French Impressionist rooms with visiting friends.who share our passion for Impressionist art.
Here are some of the paintings that grabbed our attention.
Do you want to see the real Palazzo da Mula? It is pictured below.
Impressionist Claude Monet loved painting the same scene multiple times in different light--morning, midday, dusk, etc. One of his favorite subjects was the Rouen Cathedral. Two of the paintings are displayed in the gallery side by side.
Another Monet painting is pictured below. The scene is the Seine River near Monet's home in Giverny. Monet was adept at painting reflections in water. Two photos of the same painting appear below. Can you tell which one is upside down?
Thanks for visiting the National Gallery with us, again.
