So, where do we live in DC?
Yesterday, we moved into an apartment. It's very nice but it's not quite (cue the music) "a deluxe apartment in the sky". Buildings in DC are short compared to the skyscrapers in Manhattan. DC, like Paris, has done well to limit building height to ensure the lasting grandeur of the city's monuments and boulevards.
Our apartment is in an eight story building and is a duplex on the 7th and 8th floors. So, we have a nice view from the top floor. In fact, we enjoyed a lovely sunset yesterday. It was a wonderful way to end our first day in the apartment. Here is a photo of the view from our bedroom window.
