Before starting Year 3 in DC, we were frequently asked "why start in December when it's cold?"
That's a good question.
The answer is we finished Year 2 in Italy in October and took a short break from the 10 Year Plan, spending time in sunny, warm Florida, before starting Year 3.
Plus, we thought December weather in DC wouldn't be too bad. Greg remembers one December during college in DC when the temperature was so warm that he wore short-sleeved shirts to classes.
Well, you can guess what has happened. Since we arrived in DC a few days ago, the weather has been a little chilly, 40's during the day, 30's at night. That means thick winter coats, with hats and gloves.
Yesterday, the cold weather even produced snow all day long, dusting cars, trees and lawns with a thin layer of the white stuff.

So much for short sleeves in December. Who knew? Not us.
