Today, we took a long walk in the past while viewing many of the ancient treasures in The British Museum.
The collection is extensive and represents many ancient civilizations, including Anglo-Saxon, Roman, Greek, Egyptian, Assyrian, Persian and more. Below is a sampling of what we saw.
We recently watched the film The Dig about the discovery of artifacts from a 600 A.D. burial site in England known as the Sutton Hoo. The helmet shown below is amazing.
Below, Emperor Nero proudly displays his prominent ears, like a taxicab with its doors open.
Below, some random hottie stands next to a 7 ton lion in the covered courtyard of the museum. The lion was brought from an ancient tomb on the coast of Turkey.
Thanks for visiting The British Museum with us.
