The Musée d'Orsay is hosting a temporary exhibition dedicated to Edgar Degas' extensive paintings and drawings related to the opera. (For a quick biography of Degas, click here.)
Edgar Degas was a frequent patron of the Paris Opera, attending many performances and rehearsals. Over the decades, Degas produced many paintings of varying styles. The exhibition included paintings from his entire career. You can see for yourself how his painting style evolved, especially, later in time when his failing eyesight affected his painting.

The exhibition included several Degas quotes. We especially liked the one below about the nature of painting.
Thanks for the viewing Degas at the Opera at the Musée d'Orsay with us.
