Museums in Paris: Musée Maillol (Part 1 of 2)

Recently, we visited the Musée Maillol to view both a temporary exhibition and the permanent collection.


The temporary exhibition featured a wide range of early 20th century paintings by the self-taught artists of the Nve movement, including works by Henri Rousseau.

Marie-Chantal especially liked the two Séraphine paintings above.  The use of dots reminded her of aboriginal paintings from Australia.  The paintings also reminded Marie-Chantal of Little Shop of Horrors--"Feed me, Seymour."


Jean-Claude especially liked the Rousseau painting below.

 

Jean-Claude was amused by the cheeky painting below.
