The Marche des Fiertés LGBT (the LGBT Pride March) is a big deal in Paris. On a recent very hot day Saturday in Paris, tens of thousands of marchers and spectators turned out for the parade.
The march stretched nearly three miles from Montparnasse on the Left Bank to Place de la République on the Right Bank. We watched the parade on the Left Bank along tree-lined Boulevard St. Michel.
This pride parade was unlike others we have seen. Most of the marchers were young, twenty-somethings, and there were a few floats but not many and none were corporate sponsored floats. the number of people marching was very high. At times, the marchers filled the very wide street and overflowed onto the sidewalks.
Here are some photos from the event.
The march passed in front of the Notre Dame cathedral.
Susan spotted the trash receptacle below and thought it was oddly artful with the discarded pride flag and sign.

Around town, we have spotted other symbols of pride, like the Polo Ralph Lauren shop in the 8th arrondissement.
In the Marais, we spotted a street colorful street sign.
Even the crosswalk has the pride colors.
Thanks for joining us for the 2019 Marche des Fiertés LGBT.
