Cars in D.C. #4

While strolling through a nearby neighborhood, we spotted a classic VW Microbus on a tralier.

The Microbus looks like a mid-1970's model and appeared to be in excellent condition.  Perhaps it was recently restored and being delivered to its proud, happy owner.

The classic vehicle featured original artwork on its spare tire cover.   Check it out.

Seeing the VW Microbus reminded Greg of his VW experiences as a teenager.  His bother Mike usually had one or two Bugs in the driveway, being repaired or upgraded.  Greg learned to drive by zipping in a Bug around the driveways in the front and side yards of the house.  (Greg never got out of first gear.)

Plus, Greg was reminded of listening to the song Autobahn by 70's electronic band Kraftwerk.  Greg enjoyed dreaming about speeding in a VW down the Autobahn in West Germany (finally getting out of first gear).

You can dream for yourself by clicking here.  If you recognize the telltale sound of a VW in the music, then you are already part of the club.
