Our visit to the Musée Maillol continues.
As you might guess, the museum is dedicated to the art of Arisitide Maillol (1861-1944). Maillol had a varied artistic career: from tapestries and wood carvings to paintings and sculpture, for which he is best known. (You can read more about Maillol's life by clicking here.)

Maillol's work is not confined to museums. Several of his bronzes are displayed in the garden of the Louvre. Because we live close by, we walk by and admire them frequently.

P.S. During a visit to the Petit Palais later in time, we spotted another Malliol sculpture.
