Museums in Paris: Centre Georges Pompidou #5

Susan has an amazing memory, especially for art.  While viewing the Pompidou's website, we noticed a temporary exhibition of contemporary paintings by French artist Bernard Frize.  Susan said, "Isn't that the same artist whose paintings we saw in a gallery near our apartment in Florence?"  Yes, it is the same.  You can the blog post from Year 2 by clicking here

So, off we went to the Pompidou.

Susan especially likes the painting below, a recent work that resembles the paintings we saw in the gallery in Florence.  The artist loads a wide brush with several paint colors and then pulls the brush across the canvas.  The effect is lovely.

The painting below reminded Susan of the iconic Chanel boucle tweed jacket with fabric woven in a style similar to the painting.

Pictured below is an example of a Chanel tweed jacket.

Thanks for visiting the Pompidou with us.
