Longfellow wrote: "Into each life some rain must fall."
Perhaps Longfellow wrote that line while visiting Washington, D.C.?
During Year 3 here in D.C., some rain has fallen. In fact, more than some has fallen.
2018 has been a record year for rainfall in D.C. More rain has fallen year-to-date than in any previous year on record. As of last week, nearly 56 inches of rain have drenched D.C. This record beats the rainfall this year in Seattle and London, by far, as it turns out.
It has rained quite a bit during October and November, but the wettest months were earlier this year. One night, our building's fire alarm started ringing and we evacuated outside into a rainstorm. Fire trucks from the nearby station arrived and confirmed there was no fire. So, we escaped the rainstorm and returned to Slumberville, lulled to sleep by falling rain..
After record rainfall in D.C., what's next? Snow in November?
