Sports in D.C.: The Washington Capitals, the 2018 Stanley Cup Champions

D.C.'s main professional sport is politics.

All other major professional sports are represented in D.C., including the NHL.  Born in 1974, the Washington Capitals franchise has fielded some great teams over the last 44 years.  The Caps, however, never had what it takes to win the Stanley Cup.  Until this year.

We have followed the Caps since arriving in D.C. and attended some games, including a playoff game.  As the Caps kept winning and advancing in the playoffs, the DMV's mania for the Caps grew.  In the end, the Caps prevailed and won the championship.

A few days later, D.C. hosted a victory parade with tens of thousands of attendees.  Here are some photos from the event.
