The Notorious RBG

If you follow this blog, then you know we love watching films.  

Recently, we saw the documentary film RBG.  The film tells the life story of attorney Ruth Bader Ginsburg, an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court for the past 25 years.  The film takes its title from Ginsburg's initials, R.B.G., and the comparison by some admirers of Ginsburg to hip-hop artist the Notorious B.I.G.

The film recounts Ginsburg's life as a law student, a litigator, a mother and wife, and a judge and her significant role in advancing gender equality in the U.S.  

We especially enjoyed the film because of the strong connection to Washington, D.C.  In fact, we saw the film on the same day as we visited the Supreme Court building. 

Based on what we learned about Justice Ginsburg in the film, we guessed she was probably hard at work inside the court building, even though it was a Saturday.
