A recent Saturday found us in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, located east of the Capitol Building. The weather was lovely, with cool breezes and a Carolina blue sky.
We stumbled across a large flea market and enjoyed viewing art, crafts, antiques, food, clothing and accessories, etc.
The flea market is located near D.C.'s Eastern Market, a food market completed in 1873.

The idea for the Eastern Market was included in Pierre Charles L'Enfant's 1791 plan for the city. |
One of the vendors at the flea market offered some interesting lamps for sale, crafted from musical instruments and plumbing parts.
Visiting the flea market yielded a great find. Susan bought a large blue shoulder bag made from "vegan leather". Check out the happy shopper below.
Thanks for visiting the Capitol Hill Flea Market with us.
