While we typically dine in, we periodically dine out in our neighborhood or elsewhere around D.C. D.C. has many wonderful restaurants--all types of cuisine, casual and formal, traditional and modern, etc.
A casual, traditional Greek restaurant near our apartment is George's, just across Rock Creek Park in Georgetown. George is the King of Falafel and Cheese Steaks. We have enjoyed the royal treatment a couple of times and plan on returning.
During a recent visit, we enjoyed the Greek version of a smorgasbord: "το φαγητό ήταν υπέροχο" ("the food was wonderful").
Below, a raven-haired Greek goddess cradles her falafel before diving in.
Falafel, kibbeh, grapes leaves and humus. Yum! |
