Street Art: Florence #7

Florence is a walking town.  From our apartment, we walk to most places in the center of Florence.

During our walks, we often see street art of all sorts.  Several months ago, we started noticing the same the artwork pictured below.

We saw it again and again.  Because it did not resemble something recognizable, we did not understand it or put much value on it.  We were wrong.

Finally, we recognized that it was a clever work of art and it was also interactive, inviting the viewer to become part of the artwork.  Check out the next few pictures.

It turns out brother-in-law Rob is an angel.

Sister Sally is also an angel.  Apparently, she still has some growing to do.

"Teacher says, Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings."

Some random  angel
The artist behind the angel wings and halo goes by the name Jamesboy.  We learned more about Jamesboy at a gallery not far from our apartment.

If you visit us in Florence, we will help you get your wings.

April 27, 2017 Addition: While riding a bus in Florence the other day, we saw evidence that Jamesboy had passed by.
