Drinking Jet Fuel

Pop Quiz:   What happens when Italians distill wine?

You get grappa, also known as jet fuel.

Grappa is high octane both in alcohol content and strong taste.  It is typically enjoyed after a meal, because it is considered a digestivo, a drink that will help you digest your food.  One small glass and you might be feeling warm inside and just a bit light headed.  As for aiding digestion, after downing a glass, who cares?

Greg recently received a bottle of reserve grappa produced here in Tuscany on an organic farm near Florence.  It is smoother than usual and golden instead of clear.  Still, it is strong and could power a jet airplane.

If you come for a visit, let's share a glass.
