Churches: Basilica of Santa Maria Novella (Part 2 of 3)

The tour of Santa Maria Novella continues.

The Basilica is like a museum.  It is filled with works of art:  paintings, sculptures, frescoes and more.  Here is a small sample.

The altar of the basilica

We liked this painting, especially for its unique soft red coloring.

Another great painting of the unflappable Saint Lawrence.  "I'm well done on this side.  Turn me over!"

The Nativity by Sandro Boticelli, over the front door of the basilica
