A Weiner Apocalypse?

You've heard of the Zombie Apocalypse.  But is there something far worse already upon us?  A Wiener Apocalypse?

In recent days, there has been a sort of Wiener invasion in the Big Apple.  

First, there was Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island.  The winner, Joey "Jaws" Chestnut, consumed 70 Nathan's Famous hot dogs, with buns, in 10 minutes.  Now, that's a lot of wieners!  The winner gets a full a stomach and the NYC Food Bank receives $100,000, which will buy a lot of wieners for hungry New Yorkers.

Wieners, wieners, wieners!

Do you need more evidence of the Wiener Apocalypse?  Well, there is the recently released film Wiener-Dog.  The film tells the story of a cute dachshund puppy shuffled from one owner to the next, all the while making their lives better.  That must be one capable canine!  Check out the trailer here.

Still need more evidence?  There is also the recent film Wiener, a documentary about Anthony Wiener's run for NYC Mayor in 2013.  You probably remember his 2011 sexting scandal Wienergate.  Check out the trailer here.  We saw the film and recommend it if you love politics, the Big Apple or Greek tragedy.
