It's been a quiet week in Lake Wobegon (Part 2 of 2)

And now for the rest of the story of our not so quiet week in Lake Wobegon.

Movie Group at St. Bart's Church--the discussion was engaging, as always.

A Midsummer Night's Dream, a NYC Ballet production of the Balanchine ballet.  The performance was absolutely beautiful.  

Hero's Welcome, a funny new play by Alan Ayckbourn that proves you can go home again but not without consequences. 

The Lower East Side Festival of the Arts.  10th Street, between First and Second Avenues, hosted an open air festival featuring food, crafts, recycled goods and even live performances.  The all-day event included an outdoor performance by a self-indulgent writer who mistakenly thought the world needed to hear her stream-of-conscience ramblings about outdated liberal thinking.  Yawn. 

A Better Place, a funny new play about lust for real estate that proves the grass is not always greener on the other side of the street.

Love and Friendship, a new Jane Austen-inspired film that makes modern soap operas look tame by comparison.

Mets v. White Sox at Citi Field, Mets lose 6-4.  A dog and a Coke for Susan, two dogs and a Coke for Greg.  (Remember, Coke, no Pepsi in Mets Land.)

The Home Run Apple makes an appearance on May 31, 2016, after Mets second baseman Neil Walker strokes a two-run homer in the third inning, a game highlight.  The homer gave the Mets a 4-0 lead but the White Sox fought back to win 6-4.
