Pee-Wee Visits NYC, or How Susan Almost Got on TV

Paul Reubens and his alter ego Pee-Wee Herman are alive and well and visiting NYC.

With the release of his latest film, Pee-Wee's Big Holiday, Paul Reubens is on the interview circuit promoting the film.  He stopped at AOL Build last week and Susan was in the audience.

Pee-Wee's latest adventure, available in Netflix
Although Susan was not on camera*, she enjoyed the event.  Whether it means being close to Hugh Jackman or Paul Reubens, Susan likes attending celebrity events.  (*Susan's forehead appeared on camera, but not the rest of her.  It turns out that Susan has a good-looking forehead.  Who knew?)

Of course, the real reason why Susan and Greg attended was Greg.  He is a Pee-Wee fan from the 1980's and wanted to attend the live interview.

While Paul did not wear the Pee-Wee outfit, there was no concealing that the two are one person.  Paul Reubens is without a doubt a highly intelligent, lightning fast comic who knows what makes for good comedy.  He joked with the audience, most of whom were born years after Pee-Wee first arrived on the scene.  Still, he won the audience over.  Check it out here

Here some photos from the event.

Paul Reubens' non-verbal response to a question from the audience.  Pee-Wee revels in being snarky.

After the interview, Paul Reubens departing with his protection, a serious looking gent who barely cracked smile at Paul's best jokes.
P.S.  We saw the film on Netflix.  There were some funny scenes.  Greg thinks you have to be a real Pee-Wee fan to like the film.
