Shortly after arriving in New York City, we joined a film discussion group at the church we attend, St. Bart's Episcopal Church. We love movies and finding a film discussion group has been a great way to meet people, make new friends and talk about something we enjoy.
The discussion group started small but has grown steadily. We meet monthly and discuss recent films. We all try to see the same films in order to foster a robust exchange. The discussions are lively with many insights and diverse thoughts. We are really enjoying the group.
At a recent meeting, a fellow member brought authentic movie theatre popcorn, a natural choice. The amount was staggering, enough to feed dozens of hungry moviegoers.
The discussion group is affiliated with St. Bart's Episcopal Church and meets there. Coincidentally, St. Bart's is a frequent shooting location for films and television shows. You might have seen the church featured in a few well known films: Arthur (1981 and 2011); Maid in Manhattan (2002); Salt (2010) and The Big Short (2015).
