Recently, we attended a benefit performance in support of homeless LGBTQ youth. We learned that research reveals that around 4 out of 10 homeless youth self-identify as LGBTQ with some portion being forced out of their family homes.
The
Ally Coalition organized the event. The benefit raised money through corporate sponsorships (such as Toyota Financial Services), the sale of VIP tickets and the auction of two SNL tickets (three Grovers were the winning bid).
The hosts and performers all had some personal connection. Most are listed in the event poster. Jennifer Pastiloff also appeared and read an essay.

To close out the event, all of the performers channeled Fleetwood Mac while singing Go Your Own Way |
Sara Bareilles also performed, singing Brave (co-written with Jack Antonoff) and practicing Carole King's You've Got a Friend, which she performed on December 5 at the Kennedy Center Honors.
It was an enjoyable evening.
